Adrian Peterson’s Quest to Be the Best

Former Sooner running back credits his time at OU for helping him get where he is today.
NORMAN, Okla. — Adrian Peterson has a vision… a vision to be the best player to ever play the game.

While his success on the football field is well-documented, the former Sooner running back feels he has yet to even touch his full potential.

He doesn’t say that out of disrespect or to detract from any of the accomplishments of current or former players. Peterson simply has a goal, and how he approaches the game is indicative of what he is willing to do to get there.

“If you set your mind to do something and you really have the will and desire to accomplish it, then you can accomplish it,” Peterson said. “But you have to envision the things you want first.”

Peterson’s vision started long before he arrived on the Oklahoma campus in 2004, but he credits his time at OU for helping set him on the correct course. It is for this reason he makes it a point to come back to Norman every summer, to give a little something back to the community that had such a significant impact on his life.

While in town for his annual football camp last week, the former Sooner running back sat down with SoonerVision’s Claire Brandon and James Dawkins to reflect on his time at OU and how it helped him get to where he is today.
