BOSTON (CBS) — When it comes to talking about the past or complaining about a referee’s call that went against them, the Patriots are typically not allowed to make public comments.
However, their moms are allowed to say whatever they want, and Tom Brady may have found a loophole in the rules.
Brady spoke with the media on Wednesday, less than two days after the controversial non-call at the end of Monday night’s game, but just four days before he and his teammates have to take on the 9-1 Denver Broncos. So with his focus on the upcoming Sunday, the quarterback didn’t want to dwell too much on the past … but he did offer another person’s opinion.
“No final thoughts,” Brady said, when asked about the play. “My mom thought it was a penalty — does that count?”
